A 22 year old from Soshanguve will be launching “Search Africa,” a digital music competition which will launch at the same time in South Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Ghana.

Search Africa is a brain child of Tiisesto Mosholi (22) who also runs Centre Stage Media, a Public Relations and Marketing Company.

Mr Mosholi from Soshanguve block L, said the Search Africa competition concept was created to give a platform to musical talent in Africa.

“I saw a need to create something that is purely African, as we are always buying and importing concepts from other continents, forgetting about our own African talent,” he said.

The 22 year old said he started Centre Stage Media back in High school where his focus was to launch an online radio Station and got discouraged when he realised that most people were venturing into that space.

This competition is meant to encourage underground musicians to submit their work and get the exposure they need.

A whatsapp and email address will be made available to make the process simple. Competitors will be required to submit a three to eight minutes video of them singing or rapping and the top 20 will be selected for to be presented to an audience that will vote for the winning video.

“They will be great prizes up for grabs and the winner takes all and there is no age restriction to enter.

Mr Mosholi said the competition has taken longer than expected to launch because of lack of sponsorship

“Launch day has not yet been confirmed but I am very close to reaching my goal, I managed to make partnership with Imbargara Radio, Hype Ghana, Global wire news, Fashion magazine and Xrate,” Mr Moshali said.
